Playing poker with your poker buddies.
That's what makes our site so unique.
We only allow one account
per player. Management reserves the right
to close multiple accounts that we believe
belong to the same player.
GAME
LIMITS
We are proud to offer real-money
poker games at limits from $0.50/$1 to
$20/$40. In addition, Big River Poker
has free online poker games and free poker
tournaments that make great practice.
MINIMUM
BUY-IN
The minimum buy-in is ten times
the amount of the bet on the lower betting
rounds in fixed games, and twenty times
the big blind in Pot Limit and No Limit
games. For example, the minimum buy-in
for a $10/$20 fixed game is $100, and
the minimum buy-in in $0.10/$.25 Pot Limit
game is $5.
ALL-IN
POLICY
When a card player puts the last
of their poker chips into a pot, that
player is said to be "all in". An all-in
player is not eligible to win any money
bet above their final bet. The excess
part of the bet is either returned to
the bettor, or used to form a side pot
with another player or players who matched
the amount bet. There is no limitation
on the number of side pots. However, the
all-in player will be eligible for the
main pot, and therefore cannot be forced
from the hand.
Sometimes a card player
has enough chips to continue betting or
calling but has been disconnected and
unable to respond. In this case the player
is also deemed to be "all-in"
for all the amount of chips he has bet
on this particular hand. If this happens
repeatedly, it probably means your Internet
connection is poor. We therefore recommend
that you stop playing poker for a while,
and wait until your internet connection
improves.
A player is allotted
22 seconds to act in games. You will hear
a tone advising you when your decision
time is running out. If there is a disconnect
and a player returns before the timeout
he receives at least 10 seconds to act.
If a player failed to act within the allotted
time while being connected, the hand is
folded by the system.
SERVER
CRASH
In the rare event of a server
crash, all transactions will be posted
to the players' accounts at the completion
of each hand. When a hand cannot be completed,
for any reason, all of the players accounts
will be restored to the way they where
at the beginning of the hand. All bets
are considered off and a new hand will
be dealt. If a tournament is interrupted
by a server crash, the tournament will
resume play from the beginning of the
current hand.
RAKE
Big River Poker receives compensation
for hosting poker games by taking a small
commission of each real-money pot. This
commission is called a rake and equals
5% to a maximum of $3 of the money in
the pot. For detailed information about
the rake, review our Rake Schedule .
